Aligning with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015 the United Nations created the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to create a roadmap for nations to protect the planet, end poverty and promote peace and prosperity for all by 2030. This roadmap includes 17 admirable goals; two of these goals Stash specifically works with. Goal 3: Good Health and Well Being and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
SDG 3 aims to ensure health lives and promote well-being at all ages. Stash, alongside Rhiya and Aarya, contribute to this goal thru his visits to medical and allied health care facilities to provide mental health support and promote emotional well-being especially in special interest / vulnerable care groups such as children, elderly and post-trauma or illness. Stash’s gentle nature helps to reduce anxiety, increase joy and fosters meaningful emotional connections - all of which are central in improving quality of life. Encouraging positive mental states through therapy animals is increasingly recognized as an important part of healthcare.
SDG 17 aims to strengthen partnerships in the implementation of sustainable development of the SDGs. Stash collaborates, alongside Rhiya and Aarya, with a network of volunteers, healthcare institutions, schools and community organizations. This community engagement from logistics to care workers is truly a grassroots collaboration that aligns with the United Nations’s valued and sustainable development goals. Stash and his team represent a model that can inspire other communities to implement similar therapy equine programs, creating a ripple for wellness-driven partnerships.
Stash’s presence symbolizes what happens when different sectors come together with a shared purpose: improving lives.
